Shamwreck 2013 News
The biggest title in Irish Banger racing, Shamwreck sponsored by CP Dynes Drainage Contractors, comes to Tullyroan Oval for the first time in 2013, on Sunday April 21st. We are all set for a fantastic event as the big Unlimited cc cars are driven to destruction in pursuit of the coveted crown.

Over the years, whilst we staged the event at Nuttscorner Oval, we have had some magnificent entries and some memorable meetings. None came more so than last year when the then World Champion Shane Davies came to town and put on a masterclass to lift the trophy. The Bears have always shown superbly well in the meeting too, but the locals have been every bit part and parcel of the flavour of such a prestigious meeting. Who can forget Mike Flaherty's famous 2011 victory, and the tremendous Yank he returned the following year?? Or Mark Dalgarno's infamous Jag wreck on Nuttscorner's turn one??

This year the event moves to Tullyroan Oval, which has already shown itself as the Home of Irish Banger Racing. The action so far has been exceptional in the year the track has been in operation, drawing praise from locals and mainland visitors alike. A capacity crowd is guaranteed for the big showdown, and it is undoubtedly one of the highlight's of the calendar.

For 2013 we already have a fantastic entry booked in, from Belgian ace Bart Versmissen to Steve 'Tosh' Tyson from The Levellers who was a real hit with the fans in 2012. Can the top Irish racers Steven Reynolds or Stevo McGrath get their hands on the coveted trophy in 2013?? And if some of the Team Buckle boys from just up the road can take the chequers it will bring the house down!! Add in the likes of Alan O'Neill, Keith McMahon, Mark Hughes and Irish Champion Keith Carey and you have even more drivers with bags of experience who could easily take the spoils.

The meeting also features the James 'The Cat' Smith Memorial DD, and it will be defended by Englishman Chris Spiers who is making the trip back across. Tom Waller and Trackstar's Callum 'Oddjob' Hall will be making their Shamwreck debuts, whilst Scotsman Neil Naismith will be back again as always with some special tin.

The meeting on Sunday April 21st kicks off at 2pm, with support action from Lightning Rods, Ninja Kart, ProStocks and Reliant Robins.
